This pandemic cabin fever is driving everyone nuts! While we are all cooped up, we need a stress break from doing……well, nothing or lots of things and then more of nothing and listening to doom and gloom in the news. Sooooo we wanted to give you a break and allow you to dream about that project you wanted to get to someday – Now is the day which provides a great opportunity to fantasize about what you’re your home could look like. (and since we are architects, we love to talk about being creative and fun!) Now, more than ever, home is our safe haven, the place where our family gathers to have a home cooked meal, play board games, talk, and reconnect! Our home is a reflection of who we are and where we want to be.
The past few weeks have be challenging and uncertain, but one thing we have all learned is that when we are home we are safe. We encourage you to continue to dream about it your projects, large or small – whether you want to change your entry so when you pull up to your home, it’s more inviting or possibly add an additional bedroom or living space so you can spread out (aka social distancing or sanity space) or entertain again. It’s amazing how much we miss family and friends when we can’t see them and, I, for one, am looking forward to having everyone over again to talk and laugh and share our lives!
How do you dream about what could be?
Start with the space you want to transform and think about how you want to use it, which will then allow you to consider how it could look and function. Go on Pinterest and search similar rooms for ideas, take a look at Houzz for ideas or just Google search images. We wrote a book about how to dream and really begin your process. Anyone interested can email us for an excerpt! Jennifer@pdrdesigns.com (yes you can share that with your friends or neighbors who need to dream too!)
We have still been meeting virtually and sharing drawings and ideas with clients and our builders. Luckily, ours is a profession that lends itself to working remotely and safely for everyone involved. As we all transition back to a new normal in the coming months, know that we are here for you and are excited for what the future holds!
Stay tuned for an exciting announcement about how we will be helping our Healthcare Heroes!!
We encourage you to reach out to us if you have questions about starting a new project or you just need to hear a different voice – we would love to hear from you!
